话说年糕,是华人新年一定要来祭拜的贡品。同时峇峇娘惹家族也是会用同样的贡品来祭拜祖先,当新年的来临。为什么要祭拜年糕,是年糕年糕为步步高升。
Speaking of rice cakes, it is a Chinese New Year must have nian gao in praying. At the same time, the Baba Nyonya family will also use the same niang gao to praying their ancestors when the New Year comes. Why do we pray rice cakes? It is because nian gao = bu bu gao shen meaning get up level everyears.


当新年过来,家里都会拿年糕切做成下午茶点吃。如:炸年糕,年糕椰丝来当下午茶吃。家里的大大小小都爱吃。我家都是吃年糕椰丝,因为这比较古早味的同时也是从前娘惹们的吃法。
When the New Year is over, the family will cut the rice cakes to make afternoon tea and eat. Such as: fried rice cakes, rice cakes and coconut shreds are eaten as afternoon tea. Everyone in the family loves to eat. My family always eats rice cakes with shredded coconut, because this is more ancient and it is also the way of Nyonya people eat in the past.








做法:很简单也很好吃,首先把年糕切片,然后拿去蒸至到柔软。同时椰丝不可以太干,要有点椰浆水在椰丝里。这样吃起来不会太干。椰丝也是要拿去蒸,蒸好了就要放点盐搅拌。Method: It is very simple and delicious, first slice the rice cake, then steam it until it is soft. At the same time, the shredded coconut should not be too dry, and there should be some coconut milk water in the shredded coconut. That way it won't be too dry. The shredded coconut is also to be steamed. After steaming, add a little salt and stir.

拿出蒸好的年糕和椰丝,就拿筷子把年糕做成粒,之后把椰丝粘上一层。然后摆上娘惹盘里吃最美味~
Take out the steamed rice cake and shredded coconut, use chopsticks to make the rice cake into pieces, and then stick the shredded coconut as a layer. Then put it on a Nyonya plate to eat the most delicious~
