哈哈~对不起迟来的如何探索娘惹文化，这一集会带给你们更加了解峇峇娘惹“土耳其绿茶壶”陶瓷。Haha, sorry for the delay in this episode on exploring Peranakan culture! Today, we’re going to give you a deeper look at the "Turkish green teapot" ceramics associated with the Baba-Nyonya community.

对于土耳其绿茶壶在每一户峇峇娘惹家里是一个很普通+日常用品之一，为什么怎样说呢？因为茶壶在17世纪，18世纪每一户家庭一定会必有的就是“茶壶+茶杯”放在家中的客厅。可是峇峇娘惹们的茶壶跟华人族的是不一样的，哪里不一样？就是华人家族都会用一些紫砂壶，而没有粉彩颜色也没有画上凤凰+牡丹花。可是峇峇娘惹们的茶壶就会有粉彩颜色如：土耳其绿色，粉红，粉蓝和等等~同时也会画上凤+牡丹花为峇峇娘惹们的标识。The turquoise teapot is a common, item in every Baba-Nyonya house. Why is this the common? Back to the 17th and 18th centuries, a teapot and matching cups were essential fixtures in the living rooms of these families. However, the teapots used by the Baba-Nyonya community differed from those of other Chinese families. While mainstream Chinese families typically used unadorned *zisha* (purple clay) teapots—lacking pastel colors or motifs like phoenixes and peonies—Baba-Nyonya teapots featured a pastel palette (such as turquoise, pink, and pale blue) and were often decorated with phoenix and peony designs, which served as a distinctive hallmark of their culture.

岁月的痕迹把峇峇娘惹土耳其绿茶壶里，都会看到成年已久的茶垢还留在茶壶里头永远无法去除。同时这2个土耳其绿茶壶，是同样的设计。可是不同的年份和岁月的痕迹，如何照成如此痕迹是要看当时的峇峇娘惹们是否常用此物。像这2个土耳其绿茶壶，可以发现有不同的设计。不同在于凤凰的画工，同时美丽的牡丹也是有同样的问题。这是在于师傅们的手艺+技巧。凡是茶壶会配送茶杯才会成为完美或完整。Traces of time are evident in these turquoise Peranakan teapots; long-accumulated tea stains remain inside, impossible to fully remove. Although these two teapots share the same basic design, they different in age and the specific marks they bear—differences shaped by how frequently the Peranakan owners actually used it. Variations can be observed in the details, such as the brushwork of the phoenix motifs and the rendering of the beautiful peonies; these differences reflect the individual craftsmanship and techniques of the artisans who created it. Ultimately, a teapot is only considered complete and perfect when accompanied by its matching tea cups.

峇峇娘惹们茶壶也有分成二种不同款式的茶壶，一种是中国似的茶壶就是圆圆的。还有另一种茶壶款式是西洋式的茶壶，为什么会有西洋式茶壶？因为年代的改变同时峇峇们都念西洋书；加上要跟洋人做生意，所以多多少少思想也慢慢的加入西洋的文化而导致有西洋式的茶壶可是峇峇娘惹们也不会忘了加入凤和牡丹花在西洋式茶壶里。Baba-Nyonya teapots come in two distinct styles: the traditional Chinese type, which is round, and the Western-influenced type. The Western-style teapots was driven by changing times—specifically, the fact that many Babas received a Western education and conducted business with Westerners, leading to the gradual integration of Western cultural elements into their mindset. Yet, even with these Western-style teapots, the Baba-Nyonya community did not forget to incorporate traditional motifs such as the phoenix and the peony.
